Professional Writing Minor

A minor in professional writing is valuable to anyone entering the workforce. Students who want to enhance their job opportunities or wish for a career as a writer, in their discipline, should consider a minor in professional writing to complement their major. This minor is interdisciplinary in nature allowing students to develop their writing skills and provide a foundation for active engagement in writing within their major field. Upon completion of the minor, students will have a portfolio demonstrating the quality of their writing to show to future employers.

Note: Internship courses (394 / 494) may be used to fulfill the "discipline-specific writing intensive" credit requirements as long as the internship is writing-intensive and is approved by the advisor.
